Who is Clio?
Clio is a registered nonprofit organization based in Evanston, Illinois. Clio was founded by Conor O'Neil at Northwestern University, on October 1, 2002.

Clio is the muse of history from Greek and Roman mythology. She is depicted in our logo carrying a stalk of wheat.

Clio was one of the nine daughters born to Mnemosyne by Zeus. It is from the Greek word 'museion' meaning temple to the muses, that we derive the English word 'museum.'

The most famous image of Clio may be from Vermeer's The Allegory of Painting (1666-1667) on permanent exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
